Get Up and Work: No Excuses, Just Action

Sirach 7:15 (KJV Apoc): 15 Hate not laborious work, neither husbandry, which the most High hath ordained.

Guys, you've got to work. No matter how tough it seems, you have to get up and get to it. There's no way around it. Too many people have thrown away discipline, choosing laziness instead, and then complain about how their lives turn out. You have no excuse. Stop finding reasons to justify your lack of ambition. Cut the self-pity and stop looking for validation in your laziness. Quit blaming some perceived weakness or self-diagnosed issue to avoid your responsibility to work.

Don't get me wrong, I understand that some men are seriously injured and unable to work. We get that! But for those who are able, there are no excuses. The Most High Yahuah (God) has ordained you to work. The word for "ordain" in the opening scripture is "asah," which means to perform, act, labor, and conduct oneself. So, the Most High Yahuah has commanded you to work, to labor, and to make things happen in this life.

Now, let's look at the Big “C”s of working that will help give you perspective on work.

I. Childhood preparation for work

First and foremost, let's talk about the main reason why some men don't work. A lot of men don't have any aspirations to work because they were never taught to. Work ethic is something you learn from examples, like watching your dad. But instead of teaching their kids how to be hard workers, fathers often focus on everything else. Fathers need to spend time every day teaching their sons about working and living a life worth following.

Sirach 30:7-13 says, “7 He that maketh too much of his son shall bind up his wounds; and his bowels will be troubled at every cry. 8 An horse not broken becometh headstrong: and a child left to himself will be wilful. 9 Cocker thy child, and he shall make thee afraid: play with him, and he will bring thee to heaviness. 10 Laugh not with him, lest thou have sorrow with him, and lest thou gnash thy teeth in the end. 11 Give him no liberty in his youth, and wink not at his follies. 12 Bow down his neck while he is young, and beat him on the sides while he is a child, lest he wax stubborn, and be disobedient unto thee, and so bring sorrow to thine heart. 13 Chastise thy son, and hold him to labour, lest his lewd behaviour be an offenece unto thee”.

These scriptures help men put things in the right perspective. You can't just play around all the time. It's fine to have fun, but there's a time for it. As fathers, you can't give your sons the liberty to be lazy and slothful. Hold them to work hard while they're young so it becomes part of their nature. If you teach your son nothing else in life, at least teach him how to work and have a strong work ethic.

II. Commandment to work

Scriptures commands men to work. 1 Thessalonians 4:11–12 says, “11 And that ye study to be quiet, and to do your own business, and to work with your own hands, as we commanded you; 12 That ye may walk honestly toward them that are without, and that ye may have lack of nothing”.

It goes on and say in 2 Thessalonians 3:6-13, “6 Now we command you, brethren, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that ye withdraw yourselves from every brother that walketh disorderly, and not after the tradition which he received of us. 7 For yourselves know how ye ought to follow us: for we behaved not ourselves disorderly among you; 8 Neither did we eat any man’s bread for nought; but wrought with labour and travail night and day, that we might not be chargeable to any of you: 9 Not because we have not power, but to make ourselves an ensample unto you to follow us. 10 For even when we were with you, this we commanded you, that if any would not work, neither should he eat. 11 For we hear that there are some which walk among you disorderly, working not at all, but are busybodies. 12 Now them that are such we command and exhort by our Lord Jesus Christ, that with quietness they work, and eat their own bread. 13 But ye, brethren, be not weary in well doing”.

You see, there's no way around it. GO TO WORK! The prophet says if you don't work, you shouldn't eat; this is a command from Yahusha (Jesus). Too many men look for shortcuts and excuses, but the truth is simple: if you want to live a fulfilling life, you have to put in the effort. No one else is going to do it for you. So stop making excuses, get off your ass, and start hustling. Your future depends on it.

III. Contentment with your work

As a man, there's nothing more rewarding than putting in the work. A lot of men feel run down and live under a cloud of pity and meaninglessness because they don't put in the effort. Too many men sit back, covet, and talk about other men's lives instead of working on their own purpose. You can rejoice in your work and enjoy the fruits of your labor if you get off your ass and start grinding. The only difference between you and other men is putting in the work. You won't have time to covet someone else's life if you're busy engaging in the path laid before you and making the most of it.

Ecclesiastes 2:24 says, “24 There is nothing better for a man, than that he should eat and drink, and that he should make his soul enjoy good in his labour. This also I saw, that it was from the hand of God”. The hand of Yahuah will help you in your work if you will just put in work. Ecclesiastes 9:10 admonishes men by saying “10 Whatsoever thy hand findeth to do, do it with thy might; for there is no work, nor device, nor knowledge, nor wisdom, in the grave, whither thou goest”.

When you really get on the grind and put all your might into your work, Yah will make you content with the empire you're building. You'll see the fruits of your labor and find joy in what Yahuah has empowered you to achieve. Plus, the satisfaction of seeing your hard work pay off will keep you motivated and focused. You’ll start to appreciate the journey, not just the destination, and feel a deep sense of accomplishment in everything you do. So dive in, give it your all, and watch how your efforts transform your life.

The key to a fulfilling and successful life lies in your willingness to put in the work. Stop making excuses and start grinding with everything you've got. By doing so, you'll not only build something meaningful but also find contentment and joy in the process. Remember, the path to success is paved with hard work and dedication. Embrace it, and you'll see how your efforts create a life you're truly proud of. So, get up, get moving, and make it happen.
